    Pets Are Inn is a franchised pet sitting service. For not much more than the cost of a kennel, Pets Are Inn offers pickup and delivery service as well as careful matching of pets to caretakers. Criteria studied when matching pet owner to pet sitter include: what other pets are in the house, whether there are children and if a pet is accustomed to sleeping with the owner.
    The franchise operation was founded in 1982 when a Minneapolis couple discovered that the family pet Chopin did not do well when boarded in a kennel. The first franchise was sold in 1985.
    Today, there are 20 franchisees from Florida to California, as well as one in Hawaii. Training and follow-up support is included.
    Pets Are Inn mainly focus on dogs, but also service cats, rabbits, squirrels, ferrets, guinea pigs and birds.
